28.09.2023Lol pls tell us about your boxing experience and how you know any of this. I fought in amateur bouts as a teenager and can state from experience that you don't actually feel 90% of the punches during a match, now the next day is a different matter. Do a little research before you decide to post a vid and pretend to know what your talking about

05.08.2023Ya I donāt care I just wanna get fit while having fun. But I do need a reminder that when I knock out money maker that I canāt just jump in a ring and knock out Mayweather.

05.08.2023Great video! I think VR boxing has its benefits and can improve certain skills. Like you said its very much like shadow boxing, and I would even say a "better" version of it. However if your goal is to become a good boxer you will need more than just one type of exercise. Even outside of VR a fighter can't just train on the heavy bag or just shadow box, they need to do a variety of exercises, training and actual sparring to really improve. From my experince VR boxing helps with the following; cardio, hand-eye coordination, and thinking during a fight. It can work to supplement a training routine but can't replace it if you are actually planning to fight somoen in real life.

05.08.2023Its not supposed to be boxing training its fitness boxing which if you know how to box you know that will also make you worse at boxing as well

05.08.2023VR boxing has made both my Son and his gym mate significantly improve their fighting stamina. They are some of the fittest fighters in their weight and age range in our local area. By the third round most of his opponents are feeling fatigued and he's still going strong. It's a great supplement to gym work that helps improve muscle stamina in ways that most other forms of training can't without a partner.

05.08.2023I think practicing head movement is really nice in vr. Other than that though, pretty much treat it as a fun exercise game.

05.08.2023Sir, your channel is great but please stay true to VR. I cant help feeling your trying to slowly ease us into more physical Liteboxer on your channel.š

02.08.2023I would have to agree, I mainly use supernatural and less mils for a workout more than anything. It's shadow boxing. I do like SN better for the slips and the fast pace and the movement from one portal to the next. However it's still very much lacking the movement you would have in sparring and I try to do that as much as possible in VR, stepping forward while punching, stepping back etc. But you can get lost in the workout and that goes out the window most of the time. Where I truly feel like I am picking up bad habits in VR are the hooks, there is no time when I am doing hooks as I would in IRL that actually works in VR, most of the time I am doing hay makers just so they register. On the other side though, it's a great way to keep up your movements and stamina up. You just have to see it for what it is, a tool to keep you engaged in fitness.

02.08.2023I have no interest in real boxing or being a fighter but I knew from the bending over breathing hard after my first round of TOTF that I was very unfit and could really benefit from this type of exercise !!lol.. Hey what interface/strap/combo are you rocking in this clip??? looks interesting!!

02.08.2023I've used a heavy bag since way back when to help with my tae kwon do classes. It's a solid workout and can help you learn to fight. We sparred a lot in class. In basic training we learned hand to hand combat and it was physical and you could take a beating or give one. Shadow boxing, a good aerobic exercise, was boring. VR boxing, to me, is a way to turn shadow boxing into a good exercise. It gets the heartbeat going. That's why I like it. I would think that's why most people use VR boxing. It's not meant to train you to box. It's meant to give you a solid cardio workout. I don't see any way they could change things to actually give you the experience of actual fighting. Of course, with technology being what it is, you can never say never.

02.08.2023Some good honest advice. I found VR boxing to be great for getting in shape and learning good fundamentals (I would usually recommend actual boxing tutorials to supplement it. . Even though I'm killing it at these boxing games, I would defintely not step in the ring with a trained boxer cause I know I'll get my ass handed to me in 2 seconds. Would need an actual trainer. I had some training but that was a long time ago. On the other hand, the average bar room brawler who drinks like a fish and smokes 2 packs a day — maybe…
I liken it to music games like Drum Smash, Ragnarok. Decades being a musician I can say that if you master those games you have potential to learn and be really good at drums but it doesn't mean that you're ready to get behind a kit and start playing at gigs. I draw the same analogy with fighting games. It's a good starting point but there's a lot more to the sport than what the VR games show you

02.08.2023Well it might not make u a better boxer but it might make u a better boxer. I went from facing every boxer on easy for a workout to knocking everyone out on easy in the 1st round as a workout. The endurance finding the right time to use everything u got after u tired to knocking out the later boxers is insane. The endurance having the energy to beable to knock someone out in the later rounds is the difference from boxing champions to no boxing champions. Since I played this game I went from benching 155 to like 200plbs. Finding the strength to knock someone out in the 8th round on endurance in a 12 round fight 3 mins rounds shows me this game makes u better at everything. I went from dead tired after only 3 rounds in endurance to finding the energy to knock someone out late in the fight.
Dishing Paul
02.08.2023Yea it doesnāt compare u to really getting punched in real life but if u still have the strength to still knock someone out in the 10th round than u are pretty good in real life. I watched u play thrill of the fight u are really not that good that probably why u honestly think creed is a better game. I suck at Mario cart 8 but do u hear me saying pac-man world rally is better nope. I bust my butt at thrill of the fight I push myself to the limits and I can knock out the champion in like a minute on easy after boxing for 40 minutes straight. This game proves from my lifts at the gym and knocking someone out fast proves it makes u stronger faster more endurance into boxing keep playing that crappy creed game that tells u when u need breaks that crashes all of the time the worst boxing game on vr.
Roberto Noto
02.08.2023my 2 cents… i agree its 100% compared to shadow boxing. Now with that said, shadow boxing is a tool used by all pro boxers. All would say it has its benefits. VR is no replacement for hitting a bag or getting in the ring, but its part of the whole. I'm not a boxer but i am a martial artist. Will VR teach you to fight… ABSOLUTELY NOT. but if you already have the skills it can be used to enhance your reaction time and a great cardio workout. VR is a great ADDITION TOOL, NOT REPLACEMENT or substitute tool .

02.08.2023It doesn't make you worse. Believe it or not, shadow boxing is apart of the process towards helping hone technique. This is shadow boxing without visualization.
I understand where your coming from, but I have to say, Thrill of the Fight plays a big role in why I'm a better boxer today. It didn't make me worse. I've been training for awhile, and I figured that vr boxing would cause me to fall into unhealthy habits like not keeping my hands up, or using improper techniques. However, with disciplined practice, the utilization of mirrors for self correction, and the help of a coach, Vr boxing is a under utilized tool which could in fact make you a better boxer.
Teddy Savage
02.08.2023Personally I'm not trying to be a boxer, but I want to take up some boxing for personal growth and confidence. These VR games probably wouldn't help, would they?

David Gluck
30.07.2023Not sure if it makes you worse at boxing if the only goal is cardio, but yes, you should definitely not consider this training. I personally just use it for a fun warm up, like I would shadow boxing, before any drills, bagwork, sparring, etc. The biggest difference (for me at least) to real boxing is that getting hit changes so much of the dynamic. Sucks your energy, harder to counter as it can off balance you, or simply you might protect an area a lot more if its been hit alot. Its still a fitness game when it comes down to it, but I was glad to have it during the pandemic I gotta say.

30.07.2023Anyone elts thinks this guy is a idiot?

30.07.2023I have to disagree, Thrill of the fight made me a much better boxer, we shadow box before we start training but thrill of the fight is pretty much that on steroids, it helps a beginner with technique, headmovement endurance and stamina. It made me a much better boxer when sparring, my punches feel much lighter when I throw hence makes me faster and my stamina has improved alot.
Hengcredible
30.07.2023I wouldnt say it makes you worse at all. but you definitely can't expect to play this came and think you will be a better fighter. Its important to learn the proper techniques but its brilliant to practice the techniques and improving carido using this game.
Neal Lyons
30.07.2023this video is absolute bullshit. Between doing nothing and VR boxing, it absolutely makes you better. Is VR better than going to a boxing gym everyday? Of course not but with VR you don't have to leave the house and therefor, there's a good chance you work your cardio many more times a week.
moneymaster
30.07.2023U getting alot of hate here. As someone who boxed and kickboxed for 20 I think it is best described as shadow boxing on steroids. It can help with training if u already know what u r doing. I use the fight for the training as its better and totf for the matches. U can work on combos using the fighters in tote and for cardio its excellent. Yes u not getting hit but u can use slip etc in fights
Ceez
30.07.2023Such a bad take, why do professional fighters shadowbox then? To perfect technique
Jake Landini
29.07.2023Itās definitely a good workout but Iād say only 10% of what you do in vr boxing correlates to real boxing. Yeah thereās training you can do in the Rocky game and thrill of the fight but if you hit a bag in the game you will last longer than if you hit a bag in real life, heavy bags are no joke. If you never boxed irl before and you do it in vr and think your good and try to do it irl on a bag you might even get a wrist or hand injury bc your hands, wrists and forearms arenāt conditioned. All of those punches you would throw at your opponent in a vr boxing game wouldnāt happen irl bc when you go against another real person your thinking about getting hit, when to throw a punch, how to breathe and so many other things all at once. You might have great technique on the bag and in training but Iāve seen lots of people with great technique and freeze up in a ring it happened to me one time I had trained on my own for a few years and had great technique I entered a gym and the coach saw and was like damn you sure this is your first time at a gym? Long story short sparring day came and the coach was sparring me and I felt like all my technique disappeared I was breathing heavy I could see other people gathered around watching and I got my ass kicked lol. Oh and I also forgot to mention that those vr controllers arenāt as heavy as boxing gloves try holding boxing gloves to your face for 35 mins and watch how tired your arms get
dcsteele
29.07.2023Some guards just aren't viable without risking damage to the controllers, but I've never tried gloves like you were doing. The added weight probably doesn't hurt the endurance goals either.
Russell Manley
29.07.2023This is not true… If you have trained with coaches and been in training in boxing gym. You can use this as an aid. The fight and flight mode usually come down after 150 to 200 rounds.
bojidar chekendov
29.07.2023With a form and technique like that I mean ok I get why feel it can make you worse but I actually feel a benefit and it's a fun way to play around and creed is a joke I actually regret buying it
Frank Fingerman
29.07.2023I would use Kinnect UFC. When I got into a fight with this one guy I barley felt his punches. I didn't take him seriously so he jumped me with his son and he got me in a choke hold. But I was using the combos from UFC Kinnect 360

29.07.2023No offense you donāt know anything about boxing
iHateVice
29.07.20231:29 well for one look at your stance, youāre not even playing the game with the intentions on improving your squabble. š
lovefrompraha
29.07.2023I mean… It's shadow boxing. Shadow boxing isn't hitting people and mitts it's literally just punching air and working on visualization, coordination, foot work, etc and getting cardio out of it. I can claim this from 14 years of muay Thai. VR is just shadow boxing but it takes out the visualization and puts an opponent in front of you, which is tbh better than shadow boxing
The Donz
29.07.2023Maybe its not real boxing, but more like just a light workout….. Which is obvious, never done any VR and it is quite obvious…. But I fail to see how it makes you worse, if you never boxed, you going to have bad technique anyways, if you did VR, you might be a little fitter
Russ
28.07.2023Thrill of the fight gives you that feeling of dizziness. It actually makes me adjust my defense and encourages head movement. I also use a weighted vest and weighted gloves everytime i play it ššæ
Lucas Henriques
28.07.2023But you think it's "ok" to improve reaction time for real life scenarios or nah
GTA VISION
28.07.2023I see your point but have you tried thrill of the fight its a bit more realistic but obviously no feeling of impact but when you get hit your vision goes weird

28.07.2023bro is basically saying shadowboxing is not a training method to drill technques lmao
Jerome McCollom
28.07.2023So really the title of this is that VR has limited effects versus real boxing or hitting actual physical targets. It's not that it makes you a worse boxer. It just doesn't make you as good as more expensive options of a boxing gym or expensive light speed machine

28.07.2023I disagree. This is just shadowboxing with extra steps. Shadowboxing is a great workout. Can't see how this would "make you worse" when most boxers do this sort of thing every workout. Also, if youre a boxer that regularly trains, playing this wont affect your technique becauae your already training several times a week at a gym.
What does respect in a video game have to do with whether or not this makes you worse? I'm sorry, the video doesn't make sense. This is a great at-home workout if you cant make it to the gym.
